welcome to V.O.I.C.E.S. SUPPORT |EMPOWERING RECOVERY THROUGH LIVED EXPERIENCE

V.O.I.C.E.S Support is a collective of individuals who have experienced multiple disadvantage.
We come together to ensure that that services operating in Surrey truly meet the needs of the people who use them.

About V.O.I.C.E.S.Support

V.O.I.C.E.S. Support started in 2025 with a simple but powerful idea: those who have experienced multiple disadvantage are the experts in what works. Too often, services are designed without the input of the people they mean to support.

Working closely with the Changing Futures programme in Surrey, we have co-produced services, policies and contributed to Surrey’s first Joint Strategic Needs Assessment for Multiple Disadvantage JSNA Multiple Disadvantage | Surrey-i

We are also proud to be a part of Bridge The Gap, a trauma-informed relational outreach service delivered by 12 local charities that helps people receive the right help at the right time.

Through lived experience leadership, advocacy and partnership working, Recovery Action Group Surrey is helping to build a more compassionate system in Surrey. A system where recovery is led by those who truly understand it.

Our Aims

  • RESPECT: We honour lived experience and create a safe, inclusive space for everyone.

  • ADVOCACY: We amplify voices to challenge barriers and improve services and systems.

  • GROWTH: We give space for recovery, self-development, and positive change.

  • SOLIDARITY: We stand united to create fairer, more person-centred approaches.

Our Hopes

  • A System shaped by lived experience

  • We want services to embrace genuine co-production with the people who use them, ensuring they are accessible, effective and trauma-informed.

  • More support, not barriers

  • Too many people experiencing multiple disadvantage fall through the gaps in the system.

  • We hope for a future where services are better connected, eligibility criteria are more flexible to reflect real needs, and engagement policies are empathic, ensuring that no one is left without support.

Opportunity for all

  • We believe that recovery is possible for everyone.

  • We want to build a future where people facing multiple disadvantage have the opportunities, support and respect they deserve

Meet The Team

Jaana Parker
My passion for helping people has shaped my journey. For 20 years, I thrived as a sports coach until a car accident left me with severe health challenges and addiction struggles. This experience ignited my mission to break the stigma around addiction, homelessness, mental health, and neuro diversity. I’m dedicated to connecting individuals with life-changing services and support, helping them achieve sustainable recovery. I also advocate for more halfway houses and social housing, ensuring everyone has a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity. Empowering others to overcome adversity is at the core of everything I do

I've always been passionate about singing and music while dedicating myself to helping those in need. After battling a non-specific eating disorder for 20 years and experiencing the limitations of healthcare systems firsthand, I joined my local LERO to advocate for change. I'm working to raise awareness about the need for specialised treatment approaches for eating disorders beyond the current one-size-fits-all model. Through my experiences, I've become committed to being a voice for meaningful change in eating disorder treatment and support
